Bad hair day? Pet dog looking like 'a polar bear' after being groomed sends social media into a frenzy

We all know what a bad hair day can do to our mood. 

But this pet dog seems to enjoy his new style despite being turned into what his owner calls 'a polar bear' during a grooming session in China. 

The 11-year-old Samoyed, called Bei Bei, has even become a social media sensation after over one million people liked a video of him in his white, puffed up coat.

Bei Bei and his owner live in the city of Nanning in the Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region in southern China. 

His surprise makeover has been captured by a viral clip uploaded to Douyin, the Chinese version of TikTok.

The trending footage starts by showing Bei Bei lying on a table in his long white fur while being tended to by three pet beauticians. 

The scene then cuts to show Bei Bei standing on the table proudly with an extremely round silhouette as a female groomer continues to trim his hair.

Bei Bei's owner, Ms Tang, was amused by her dog's brand new looks. Commenting on the video, she joked that Bei Bei looked like 'a polar bear'.

'I had wanted a basic trim for Bei ,' Bei Bei's owner said. 'After the trim, I thought he good, plus it will be much easier to look after him now that he doesn't have long hair'

Ms Tang said she had not given specific instructions to the dog groomers and called the result 'quite good'.

'I had wanted a basic trim for Bei ,' she told MailOnline. 'After the trim, I thought he good, plus it will be much easier to look after him now that he doesn't have long hair.'

She added that she would regard Bei Bei handsome regardless of his appearance.
