Wife killer Borce Ristevski has been moved out of a high-security prison to a correctional centre housing corrupt cops and sex offenders.
He is serving out a 13 year jail sentence after being convicted of the manslaughter of his wife Karen Ristevski at their home in Avondale Heights, Melbourne in June 2016.
Until this week, the 56-year-old was being housed at a high security prison for some of the country's worst criminals.
But without explanation he was mysteriously downgraded to the medium security Hopkins Correctional Centre in Ararat, reports the Herald Sun.
The medium-security prison houses 762 criminals – most of whom require isolation from the general prison population - including corrupt cops and sex offenders.

There is a variety of accommodation inside the facility, including single, double and triple cells.
Inmates are also able to take part in a series of reintegration programs, as well as educational and workplace opportunities.
They can work full time in the laundry or kitchen as well as constructing number plates or wood products.
When asked why he was being transferred a spokesperson for the Department of Justice and Community Safety said they were unable to comment on individual prisoners.
The decision was likely made based off a number of factors including good behaviour behind bars and a security assessment.

Sources said inmates were often moved around prisons, and the relocation was not unusual.
The wife killer has kept a low profile behind bars since he was first taken in custody in December 2017.
Since being assaulted on his first day behind bars at the Melbourne Assessment Prison, Ristevski has flown under the radar.
Ristevski repeatedly lied to law enforcement after the death of his wife Karen.
She was reported missing from their home on Oakley Drive in Avondale Heights, in the city's north-west, on June 29, 2016.
For two years he lied about his involvement in her death, even when her decomposing body was found hidden in bushland at Mount Macedone.
