Hunter Biden called father Joe and uncle Jim 'office mates' at building he planned to share with an 'emissary' for chairman of Chinese energy company, new email claims

Emails from 2017 show that Hunter Biden requested keys from a property manager for his 'office mates', including his father Joe Biden and an 'emissary' from a Chinese business partner.

Joe Biden has repeatedly denied any involvement in his son's foreign business dealings with China, which were this week revealed to be the target of a federal investigation.

The September 20, 2017 email requests copies of keys from an office building manager in Washington DC for Joe and Jill Biden, along with Joe's brother James Biden and 'emissary' Gongweng Dong.

The email, first reported by the Daily Caller and also obtained by Fox News, describes Dong as the emissary of Ye Jianming, the disgraced former chairman of Chinese energy company CEFC.

'lease have keys made available for new office mates: Joe Biden, Jill Biden, Jim Biden, Gongwen Dong (Chairman Ye CEFC emissary),' the email reads.

Hunter Biden also requested that a sign be made for his office door reading 'The Biden Foundation' and 'Hudson West (CEFC US).'

According to a September report on Biden's overseas business dealings released by Republican senators, a company called Hudson West III opened a line of credit in September 2017.

Credit cards issued against the account were used by Hunter, his uncle James Biden and James' wife, Sara Biden, to purchase more than $100,000 'worth of extravagant items, including airline tickets and multiple items at Apple Inc. stores, pharmacies, hotels and restaurants,' the report said.

The company has since been dissolved. Hunter Biden's law firm, Owasco PC, was one of two owners, according to the report. Leaked documents suggest that Ye controlled the other half of Hudson West III.

At the time of the email, Hunter Biden's company Rosemont Seneca was leasing office space from House of Sweden, a Georgetown complex that houses the Swedish embassy and also leases space to private companies.

House of Sweden confirmed that Hunter Biden's company had rented space in the building at the time of the 2017 email, but declined to offer further details.

'House of Sweden is owned and managed by National Property Board Sweden,' general manager Cecilia Browning said in a statement to Fox News. 'We have tenants who rent office space, and it is correct that Rosemont Seneca LLC rented an office at House of Sweden between February 2017 – February 2018.'

Browning added: 'However, please note that we do not share information about current and previous tenants.'

In the email, Hunter Biden referred to Ye as 'my partner.' Ye has been detained in China since March 2018, accused of bribery, and CEFC declared bankruptcy earlier this year amid accusations that it used a complex web of shell companies to facilitate fake transactions.

The email was sent five months after a previously leaked email, which included a discussion of 'remuneration packages' for six people in a business deal with a CEFC.

That May 13, 2017 email appeared to identify Hunter Biden as 'Chair / Vice Chair depending on agreement with CEFC,' and noted 'Hunter has some office expectations he will elaborate.

It also lays out equity splits including '20' for 'H' and '10 held by H for the big guy?' without offering further details. The deal was never consummated.

Tony Bobulinski, the former Biden family associate to whom the email was addressed, previously told Fox News that the 'big guy' was Joe Biden.

Bobulinski said that the deal described in the May email was scuttled when Hunter Biden went behind his back to set up a separate deal with Ye, cutting Bobulinski out of his share.

The newly revealed September 2017 email offers further suggestion that Hunter Biden did move forward with some kind of business deal with the Chinese energy mogul soon after his father left the office of the vice presidency.

On Wednesday, the Justice Department's years-long investigation scrutinizing some of Hunter Biden 's Chinese business dealings and other transactions was publicly confirmed for the first time.

Hunter Biden's foreign business dealings became a point of contention during the election, after the New York Post ran reports about revelations from a discarded laptop.

Biden's campaign attacked the articles as Russian disinformation and smears.

'Not one single solitary thing was out of line,' Joe Biden insisted of his son's dealings in the second presidential debate. 'My son has not made money in terms of this thing about, what are you talking about, China.'

Now, it has been revealed that the tax investigation into Hunter Biden was launched in 2018, the year before the elder Biden announced his candidacy for president.

Hunter Biden confirmed the existence of the investigation on Wednesday, saying he learned about it for the first time the previous day.

'I take this matter very seriously but I am confident that a professional and objective review of these matters will demonstrate that I handled my affairs legally and appropriately, including with the benefit of professional tax advisors,' he said in a statement.

A report this week from the Republican-led Senate Homeland Security and Governmental Affairs committee concluded that Hunter's Chinese business associates were 'linked to the Communist government and the People's Liberation Army'.

It states: 'Those associations resulted in millions of dollars in cash flow'.

The payments began days after Hunter sent his infamous email to one associate in 2017 talking about money for 'the big guy' and deals for 'me and my family' and totaled more than $6 million, the report concludes.

The Senate report focuses on Hunter's work for Chinese company CEFC China Energy to invest in US energy projects.

CEFC's founder and former chairman Ye Jianming gave Hunter a 2.8-carat diamond after a business meeting in Miami, CNN has reported.
