Card dealer at The Star casino is sacked and arrested after throwing a bag of drugs off a balcony - as his bizarre excuse to his boss is revealed
A games dealer allegedly threw a bag of white powder over the railing at a casino because he 'found' it in his pocket and wanted to get rid of it.
CCTV footage showed the casino worker and another man leaning against the railing at The Star in Pyrmont, Sydney.
Both men were facing away from the balcony when the casino worker, who was off-duty, put his hand into his short pocket.
He then pulled out an object before dropping it behind him.

Security later searched the below area and found a bag had landed behind some plants.
The Liquor and Gaming Authority say the man refused to tell The Star where he had obtained the bag and that he had 'found' it in his pocket and wanted to get rid of it.
The games dealer has since been fired by the casino while the Authority has banned him from working or entering the casino premises for five years.
Meanwhile the man has been charged with possessing a prohibited drug.
In a separate incident, a female gaming attendant was caught placing 28 bets on a gambling app while working.
The Liquor and Gaming Authority say the woman placed the bets between January and February and has since been let go.
Authority Chair Philip Crawford said The Star sacked the employees for breaking their responsibilities.

'A casino special employee is a licensee engaged to supervise and facilitate gaming activities,' Mr Crawford said.
'These people help safeguard the integrity of casino operations from criminal influence, serious misconduct or exploitation and a special degree of trust is placed in them.'
A spokesman from The Star said the casino had been working with authorities.
'These incidents were identified by The Star and dealt with at the time,' he said.
Daily Mail Australia contacted The Star for comment.
