Houston Texans teammates Will Fuller and Bradley Robey hit with six-game bans for violating the NFL's performance-enhancing drugs policy
Houston Texans teammates Will Fuller and Bradley Roby have both been suspended for six games after violating the NFL's policy on performance-enhancing drugs .
Fuller announced the ban on Instagram on Monday, saying that he was suspended for using from a medication that was prescribed to him in the belief that it was permitted, but turned out to violate the league’s PED policy.
'Earlier this year, I sought treatment from a medical professional who prescribed medication that he believed to be permitted under the NFL’s drug policy,' Fuller wrote on Instagram. As it turns out, my trust in this professional was misplaced because this medication was NOT a permitted substance under the NFL Policy on Performance Enhancing Substances.
'As a result of this mistake, I have been suspended for six games for taking this prohibited medication. I want to sincerely apologize to the Texans organization and all of my fans for this mistake. I am looking forward to putting this all behind me and returning better than ever in 2021. '

Roby, who started every game this season, has 37 tackles and an interception on the year
The suspension is a big blow for a team on which he had become the No. 1 receiver in the wake of the offseason trade of DeAndre Hopkins to Arizona.
Fuller ranks 10th in the NFL with 879 yards receiving and eight touchdowns this season, which are both career highs.
Fuller, who was a first-round pick in 2016, has had five 100-yard receiving games this season, capped by a season-high 171-yard, two touchdown performance in Houston’s win over Detroit on Thanksgiving.
Fuller has started each game for the Texans this season after struggling with injuries for the past three years. He will be a free agent after this season.
Roby, who started every game this season, has 37 tackles and an interception on the year.

Fuller defended himself on Instagram, saying he thought the substance he took was approved
