50 per cent of Americans say history will view Donald Trump as a 'failed' president, poll finds - but 70% of Republicans say they'd vote for him if he runs again

A majority of Americans say history will view Donald Trump as a 'failed president' even as most Republicans said they would vote for him again.

A new poll from USA Today/Suffolk University polling found a harsh grade for Trump as he wraps up his term in the White House.

Asked how history would judge Trump's presidency, 50% said he would be seen as a 'failed president' while 16% said a 'great president,' and 13% called him a 'good president.'

And, even as the president refuses to concede the election to President-elect Joe Biden, Americans overwhelming say it's time for him to do so.

The poll found Americans, 70% to 26%, said it's time for Trump to concede now that the electoral college has voted.

Meanwhile, Republicans by double digits, 57%-37%, say he shouldn't.

And most Republicans said Trump would get their vote again.

If Trump is the Republican Party presidential nominee in 2024, 71% of Republicans say they would support him and another 16% say they would consider it. Just 10% say they wouldn't vote for him.

The president hasn't addressed whether he will run for office again as he continues to falsely state he won in November. There have been reports he is considering such a move and would announce his intentions early next year to set himself up as the head of the party.
