Mum horrified after weighing her Aldi pasta to find out there was only 370g of pasta in a 500g bag - so are you being ripped off?
An Aldi shopper was shocked to discover her 500g packet of pasta only weighed 379g when put on the scales.
The disappointed customer had weighed the pasta while she was making dinner on Wednesday, explaining she luckily only needed half of the packet for her meal.
Detailing the experience to a Facebook group, the confused shopper shared a photo of 500ml of water - proving the scales weren't off.
'Glad I'm halving the recipe and don't actually need the 500g of pasta that I thought I was buying,' she wrote.
An Aldi shopper was left disappointed after discovering her 500g pack of Remano Macaroni only weighed 379g when put on the scales
The post was flooded with comments with many saying her scales were likely broken or that the pasta only weighed the branded amount after it was cooked.
'Your scales are probably out of balance,' someone commented.
'500g when cooked love,' another wrote.
Many questioned why the shopper was so frustrated over the pasta, which cost as little as a dollar.
'I'm not complaining about the money factor, its literally not even worth my time to email Aldi about it, or make a special trip to take it back but thought it was a bit funny,' the customer said.
The Remano Macaroni packet had been advertised to weigh 500g but was much less when put on the scales
Other shoppers supported her and said she was entitled to what she paid for.
'It doesn't matter if it costs 60c or $60, if you buy 500g you expect 500g,' said one shopper,' another wrote.
'What if someone has a super tight budget? They organise meals around plans and have worked out four meals divided by the 500g,' said one.
While others suggested the weight included the packet, the Aldi shopper claimed the package would only add on an extra 10g at best.
An Aldi spokesperson encouraged the customer to report the incident so they could investigate.
