'Knife-wielding' man, 20, and two girls, aged 18 and 19, are arrested for 'pelting eggs and screaming at a Texas prayer group who gathered to show their support for Trump'
A Texas prayer group which had gathered to support President Donald Trump was pelted with eggs and threatened with a knife, police said Monday.
John Rivas, 20, Marilyn Lopez, 19, and 18-year-old Miliannie Ortiz-Ruiz were all arrested following the incident in Harlingen hours after the 2020 election was called for Joe Biden on Saturday.
Police said Rivas began throwing eggs at the group, gathered in support of the outgoing president. When he was asked him to stop, Rivas then allegedly got out a knife.
Lopez and Ortiz-Ruiz were also arrested after screaming insults at the crowd of Trump supporters, police said in a statement. They were charged with misdemeanor disruption of a meeting.

In a statement posted to Facebook police said they were called 'in reference to a subject with a knife'.
They said: 'According to witnesses, a prayer group for President Trump was meeting on the grass lot on A and Jackson street when a male subject, later identified as John Rivas, began throwing eggs at the group.
'When the group addressed Rivas and asked him to stop, he displayed a knife.'

Rivas is understood to have left the scene before officers arrived but was 'quickly located and placed under arrest for Aggravated Assault with a Deadly Weapon'.
Police said Rivas was taken into custody 'after a brief struggle' and 'additionally charged with resisting arrest and disruption of meeting'.
The kitchen knife said to have been brandished by Rivas was found nearby.
Police added: 'Two adult females, Marilyn Lopez and Miliannie Ortiz-Ruiz were also arrested for disruption of meeting as they were with Rivas during the incident and were screaming insults at the crowd of Trump supporters during the investigation.'
