Desperate search launched for a nine-year-old boy after he went missing from a park – as it's revealed he knew a young girl, 13, who vanished from the same town more than a month ago

A desperate search has been launched for a nine-year-old boy after he went missing two days ago - as the hunt continues for a 13-year-old girl he knew who vanished in the same town a month earlier. 

Angus Slater was last seen at Heritage Park on Molesworth Street, Lismore in northeastern New South Wales about 4.45pm on Thursday. 

Officers from Richmond Police District conducted an extensive search of the area but could not locate the nine-year-old after he was reported missing.

The teenager was last seen getting into a green Holden Commodore station wagon on Rotary Drive, Lismore at 5.30pm that day. 

Angus is described as being of Caucasian appearance, about 150cm tall, of solid build, and with sandy blonde hair.

At the time of his disappearance, he was wearing a school uniform – yellow polo shirt and navy shorts - purple Nike shoes and carrying a blue backpack.

Meanwhile, Araya is also of Caucasian appearance, about 150cm tall, of solid build, and with shoulder-length blonde hair.

'The children are believed to still be on the north coast in the areas of Goonellabah, Lismore, Woodburn, Evans Head or Wardell,' a NSW Police spokesman said.
