Chicago rapper King Von is among three shot dead in Atlanta hookah lounge gunfight involving rival crews and cops working security
Chicago rapper King Von has been killed during a gun battle in an Atlanta hookah lounge that left three dead and three wounded.
Dayvon Daquan Bennett, known professionally as King Von, was among those killed in the furious shootout at around 4am on Friday at the Monaco Hooka Lounge in downtown Atlanta, police confirmed.
Investigators said that it was not immediately clear whether the fatal shots were fired by uniformed police, one on-duty and one off-duty working as security, or the rival groups involved in the shootout.
It was the second shooting at the Monaco in a span of 24 hours, though there was no immediate indication that the two shooting were connected.

The shootout occurred in the parking lot of the downtown Monaco Hookah Lounge
Investigators with the Georgia Bureau of Investigation say that Bennett and a group of men had left the Opium Nightclub and gone to the Monaco Hookah Lounge, where they got into a heated argument with another group in the parking lot.
'The argument quickly escalated to gunfire between the two groups,' the GBI said in a statement.
The GBI said that two officers, one off-duty and one on-duty, both fired at two separate locations as they tried to intervene in the gun battle.
Bennett and two other men died. Police did not immediately release the identities of the other fatalities.
Three others were injured and are being treated at a hospital.
Atlanta Police Deputy Chief Timothy Peek said that no officers were injured in the incident.

He said that GBI investigators were working to determine who had fired the various shots that struck the people involved.
'That's what we want to find out,' Peek said. 'We want to be sure we look at the evidence and be sure we know who did what.'
The GBI said that its independent investigation continues. Once the investigation is complete, it will be submitted to the Fulton County District Attorney's Office for review.

He grew up in the section of Parkway Gardens on Chicago's South Side known as 'O'Block,' and considered one of the most dangerous blocks in the city.
He was also known by the street name 'Grandson' in reference to David Barksdale, the founder of the Black Disciples. Bennett was allegedly a member of the gang.
Bennett previously beat a murder rap in connection with a May 2014 shooting in Chicago, walking free after witnesses failed to testify.
He was currently facing prosecution in Atlanta on charges including attempted murder in connection with a robbery and shooting at a popular drive-in in February of last year.
His collaborator Lil Durk, whose real name is Durk Derrick Bank, was a co-defendant in that case, and their bail terms prohibited the two men from having contact.
