A homeless man with a history of mental health illness could possibly have his leg amputated after he stole a police officer's gun and was shot three times by cops near a train station in Argentina.
A Buenos Aires city surveillance camera captured the frightening moment Jonathan Mosqueda aimed a cop's service weapon and fired at the cops before one of the agents rushed him and wrestled the gun away - but not before hitting two officers and a passerby.
According to Argentine newspaper ClarÃn, the 31-year-old man approached a police officer outside the San MartÃn train station in the town of Retiro approximately at 7:30am Tuesday and took his Bersa 9mm gun from the holster.
Mosqueda led the cop on a wild foot chase down Del Libertador Avenue as the agent called for backup.

Swarmed by agents, Mosqueda engaged the cops in a shootout, shooting a male cop on the ankle. One of the bullets fired by Mosqueda rebounded and struck a female police officer in the hand.
A 24-year-old cyclist passing near the chaotic scene was also grazed by a bullet.
Cops returned fire and shot Mosqueda three times, striking him in the abdomen, chest and left leg.

The 30-second video shows the suspect lying on his back on the street pavement and pointing the gun at the cops before one of the agents ran up to Mosqueda and kicked him before taking the gun from his hands.
Mosqueda was taken to Fernández Hospital, where he was listed in critical condition.
A source with knowledge of the shooter's condition told ClarÃn on Wednesday that doctors were considering amputating his left leg.
'He underwent a long surgery. He is in hemorrhagic shock, in a pharmacological coma, with mechanical ventilation and his left femur is compromised and he had no improvement,' the source said. 'Doctors are analyzing a possible leg amputation.'
The two police officers and the bicyclist were transported to Churruca Hospital. Their wounds were not considered life threatening.
