Thousands of sunseekers will be watched by hi-tech AI and drones as summer approaches to ensure social distancing is followed at the beach.
Authorities in Sydney are worried beaches will reach capacity due to the scorching conditions - with the October long weekend already heating up.
Waverley Council, who look after Bondi, Tamarama and Bronte beaches in the city's east, will monitor how many visitors log onto free WiFi in the area to track the crowds, NCA NewsWire reported.
Several councils have already warned that beaches could be forced to shut if crowds swell and fail to socially distance.

On the Northern Beaches, sunbathers will be observed by AI-boosted cameras that were secured before the COVID-19 pandemic.
'Connected cameras at … and Manly and Shelly beaches use artificial intelligence to count and monitor crowd numbers, allowing lifeguards to manage beach safety', the NSW Government wrote in its COVID Safe Summer Plan.
The Northern Beaches Council will also use drones to assist watching visitors at Manly and other beaches in the area.
'The drones will be beaming pictures to lifesavers, with professional lifeguards and volunteers monitoring that', a council spokesman said.
Sydneysiders are expected to hit the beach this long weekend, with the Bureau of Meterology forecasting warm to hot weather.
'Warm to hot weather is forecast for much of NSW and the ACT this long weekend, ahead of a cold front making its way into southern NSW on Sunday evening,' the bureau said.

'Temperatures are set to be 4-10C above average.'
Sydney is expected to hit 25C on Saturday, 27C on Sunday and 29C on Monday, with residents keen to make the most of their three-day weekend.
Waverely Council released a warning for prospective beachgoers.
'If you're planning on heading down to the beach to cool off as the weather warms up this long weekend, make sure you stay COVID safe by social distancing and limiting gatherings to 20 people or less,' the council said.
It is also a long weekend in Queensland, South Australia and the ACT.

Brisbane will reach a maximum of 27C over the three-day break, while Adelaide is expected to hit 29C on Saturday before dropping to the high teens for the remainder of the break.
Melbourne is forecast for 28C on Saturday and 27C on Sunday, before dropping for the beginning of the week. The forecast in Perth will hover around the 20C mark.
Darwin will be hot with a max of 34C and Hobart's temperature ranges between 15C and 20C for the weekend.
Health officials across several states have warned people to stay indoors if they experience any symptoms this weekend, and avoid visiting family and friends.
