Martin Kaymer in the hunt for a first win since 2014 US Open triumph after stunning 66 at the UK Championship
German Martin Kaymer is in the hunt for a first win in six years after shooting a stunning 66 at the third round of the UK Championship at The Belfry, Warwickshire.
Kaymer fired eight birdies in heavy rain to reach ten under par, two shots behind the leader, South Africa’s Justin Walters.
Kaymer, who has not won since clinching the 2014 US Open, said: ‘Those were the toughest conditions of the week. I was hitting the ball fairly well, but I just needed one of those days when the putter was hot.’
