Former President Barack Obama tonight implored Americans to not sit out the Nov. 3 election, urging the country to "keep pushing in the face of hardship and injustice."
Democrats also have expected to harness Obama's still-high fame in their celebration to help promote high voter turnout for its Biden-Kamala Harris ticket, especially as the party faces worries about turnout after 2016's reduction and pressures to adopt a more left-leaning platform.
Addressing those voters who may feel left out of this procedure or uninspired to vote, Obama said:"This president and people in power -- people that benefit from keeping things the way they are -- they are counting on your cynicism."
He added:"They know that they can not win you over with their policies. So they're hoping to make it as difficult as possible for you to vote and to convince you that your vote does not matter. That's how they win. That is how they make to keep making decisions which affect your life and the lives of the people you love."
"That's the way the democracy withers, until it is no democracy in any way. We can't let this happen. Do not allow them to take away your own power. Do not let them take away your mood."
