The initial reliable Pixel 5 leaves have now leaked, showcasing what looks to be a remix of a very familiar design seen previously.
We have already seen some less dependable leaves seem online, but this time around, leaves have come courtesy of the guy using the best track record to date. Steve Hemmestoffer, aka, @OnLeaks shared with the high-resolution renders in cooperation with Indian outlet PriceBaba.
The layout feels like a combo of the newly released Pixel 4a along with the Pixel 4, choosing the best of both designs and merging them into a single device. What do we glean from those Pixel 5 renders that we don't already know? In all honesty, nothing really major, as Google themselves demonstrated a few layout tidbits when unveiling the Pixel 4a a few weeks ago.
Fans of this physical fingerprint reader will probably be pleased, since the rear-mounted capacative fingerprint reader is set to come back, while the square camera bump first seen about the Pixel 4 and 4 XL last year is set to come back, as stated by the leaves.
The anticipated specifications of this Google Pixel 5 include a Qualcomm Snapdragon 765G 5G-enabled chipset, at least 6GB of RAM and 128GB of storage, and battery dimensions are not yet known. Again, these are still rumor, but the Pixel 5 renders suggest that the device will measure in at 5.7 to 5.8 inches with an upper-left punch-hole top notch mimicking that of those Pixel 4a.
We feel that there will be no Pixel 5 XL version this year. Instead, we'll observe the Pixel 4a 5G slot machine inside that area for those needing a bigger display-laden smartphone. Though the Pixel 5 renders showcase a familiar design thanks to our own digging, we do understand that this unit is very likely to differentiate itself in the Pixel 4a 5G by including some exclusive software features like inverse wireless charging -- or Battery Share.
It is also expected to come with an IP68 water and dust-resistance rating, among that which we're sure will be another notable alternations -- including no headphone jack. Fortunately, we have a good idea of pricing, as Google warns the Pixel 4a 5G and Pixel 5 will begin at $499.
What do you consider this Pixel 5 renders? Are you a fan, or does the layout skirt too fine a line with other Pixel hardware? Let us know down in the remarks section below.
