Tottenham fan Lord Sugar has rowed with supporters who mocked his Twitter scoreline gaffe.
The former Spurs owner branded one critic a 'brain dead t***' after he mistakenly tweeted that Newcastle had equalised against Arsenal as the north London rivals battled to secure fourth place in the Premier League and qualify for the Champions League.
Sugar, the star of the Apprentice on BBC and with almost three million followers, insisted his tweet did not lead to fans going wild when news of the score through — and that he left the message AFTER believing Newcastle had scored.

He explained on Twitter: 'Truth is crowd at WHL went wild, rumor score was 1-1. No mobile signal in directors box, assumed was correct. Composed tweet in stand, got sent after game.'
But one of Sugar’s followers said the '1-1 at Newcastle' tweet was sent during the match.
His reply read: 'strange. No signal but you tweeted during the game. Alan... you’re fired.'
A furious Sugar hit back: 'can you read you brain dead t*** composed in the stand, sent after game automatically when signal became available.'
Duped: Former Spurs owner Alan Sugar tweeted the fake scoreline during the game
Sugar admitted to golfer and Arsenal fan Ian Poulter he had taken loads of stick, tweeting: 'been on plane past 3 hours avoiding abuse'.
Arsenal celebrated fourth with a 1-0 win at St James' Park thanks to a goal from Laurent Koscielny, with Chelsea's win over Everton at Stamford Bridge securing the Blues in third and avoiding a potential play-off.
Tottenham's misery was compounded when they became the first side to reach 72 points in the Premier League and not qualify for Champions league football by finishing outside the top four.
Not even another wonder goal from Gareth Bale to hand Spurs a 1-0 victory could lighten the mood at White Hart Lane, where fans watched three penalty appeals go against their side.
