Smirking whilst in police custody, a man from Chicago bit off more than he could chew during an argument with another man on Friday morning.
28-year-old Richard Vody from Justice in the south-west area of the city forced his way into the home of someone he knew and got into a blazing row.
The argument quickly spun out of control when he Vody ended up biting off half of another man's ear.

The Cook County Sheriff’s office alleges that just as the argument was coming to an end, Vody leaned into his 26-year-old victim and stuck his teeth into the man's right ear biting it clean off.
The attack was witnessed by the victim's girlfriend. All three knew each other.
Police dogs helped to locate the missing part the following day.

The victim was taken to a nearby hospital however it's not clear if the missing chunk was able to be reattached.
Vody was arrested and has been charged with one count of home invasion, one count of aggravated battery, and one count of domestic battery.
He was released on $250,000 bail and is due to appear in court tomorrow.
