This is the sickening moment two doormen knocked a pubgoer unconscious by kicking him in the head after throwing him out of an Essex pub.

Video footage shows a 25-year-old man getting kicked to the ground outside what is understood to be The Rising Sun pub in Hornchurch, Essex.

In the dramatic clip, believed to have been taken at around 11.30pm on August 28, the victim is seen standing by the entrance of the pub, before a man who appears to be a doorman punches him in the head.

The victim, who has not been named, falls to the ground but as he manages to stand up again, he is again pushed to the ground.

The man yet again tries to stumble to his feet but a second doorman walks out on to the pavement and kicks the victim in the head.

The customer appears to be knocked out unconscious as he lies on the pavement completely motionless, before one of the doormen attempts to lift him up by his shoulders and turn him on to his back.

The video, which has received more than 130,000 views since being uploaded to social media, left users shocked by the violent scene.

The Metropolitan Police Service confirmed they were investigating allegations of assault in connection with the incident, MyLondon reported.

A spokesman said: 'Police are investigating allegations of an assault at approximately 23:30hrs on Saturday, 28 August outside a business in High Street, Hornchurch, Havering, RM12.

'A 25-year old man received injuries to his face. His injuries are not life threatening or life changing.

'Enquiries continue to establish the circumstances. There have been no arrests.
