This is the shocking moment an apparent gas leak set off an explosion in a Mexico City apartment building complex that killed one person Monday.
Mexican newspaper El Universal reported that 26 people were injured, including 14 who were listed in serious condition. Four children were among the injured, including two who later tested positive for COVID-19.
The surveillance footage shows a passenger vehicle driving past the building on the capital's south side neighborhood of Benito Juárez when blast tore through the four-story building at 10:47am local time.

Mayor Claudia Sheinbaum confirmed the lone casualty almost three hours following the accident but did not identify the victim.

'I inform with deep sadness that one of the people injured by the explosion on Coyoacán Ave. unfortunately lost their life,' Sheinbaum wrote on her Twitter account. 'We are in contact with the family to provide all the support that is necessary.'
The mayor said that the city government was already coordinating efforts with the insurance company to assist the families that live in the two buildings that make up the 63-unit complex.

Some 300 people were evacuated from neighboring buildings as a precaution.
Residents at first though Mexico City had been rocked by an earthquake due because of the ferocity of the explosion sent glass flying past a building nearby.
'The neighbors asked if it had shaken, but no, it was an explosion,' a woman told FORO TV. 'It looked like the effects of a movie.'
The Mexico City prosecutor's office and experts from other agencies were investigating to determine the source of the gas leak.
