Navy SEAL who killed Bin Laden urges Mark Milley to RESIGN over Afghans falling to their deaths from US aircraft and says his friends 'died for no reason'

The retired Navy SEAL who shot and killed Osama bin Laden in 2011 is calling on Mark Milley to resign over the US's chaotic evacuation effort from Afghanistan after the country fell to the Taliban on Sunday while his fellow veteran is also calling on the Secretaries of State and Defense to step down.

'There are Afghans falling to their deaths off of our retreating aircraft. Has @thejointstaff resigned yet?' retired SEAL Robert O'Neill wrote on Twitter Monday morning, tagging the official account for the Joint Chiefs of Staff led by Chairman Mark Milley.

The post was bookended by two more also calling for General Milley to resign.

At least eight people were killed at Kabul airport on Monday, including two who were shot dead by US troops, three who were run over by taxiing jets and three stowaways who fell from the engines of a US Air Force plane as it fled an airfield of thousands of desperate Afghan nationals.

Milley briefed Senators on Sunday that after the Afghan government's sudden collapse, groups like Al Qaeda could make a resurgence sooner than expected, sources told CNN.

'Have any of our generals and admirals resigned out of disgrace yet?' O'Neill also questioned.

The Joint Chiefs of Staff has not yet released a public statement regarding the Taliban takeover.

Navy SEAL Derrick Van Orden echoed O'Neill's criticisms on Fox & Friends Monday morning.

'Unfortunately, the Biden administration is redefining the word incompetence,' the military man-turned-Congressional candidate said.

'You've got Secretary Blinken and Secretary Austin - they need to tender their resignations right now. The chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff, Milley, he needs to go peel potatoes in the galley for about a month and then resign also.'

He added that the devolving situation in the war-torn country is 'he most dramatic foreign policy crisis' the US has seen since September 11th, 2001.

The Taliban took control of Afghanistan and are going door to door in Kabul looking for enemies to kill despite promising the international community they wouldn't breach human rights because they wanted to be formally recognized.

At Hamid Karzai International Airport, there was a stampede of thousands of people - both stranded foreign nationals and Afghan civilians - desperately trying to escape.

The insurgent group made significant advances on government-controlled territory within days during the final weeks before Joe Biden's deadline for a full military withdrawal at the end of August.

With their territorial gains came stories of their brutal treatment of Afghan soldiers who surrendered and accounts they rounded up young women and girls to be married off to Taliban fighters.

They took Kabul Sunday after President Ashraf Ghani fled the country and were met with no resistance from the Afghan military.

'My friends who died for no reason would be disgusted with this administration,' O'Neill wrote on Twitter.

Biden's withdrawal was a continuation of Donald Trump's peace agreement with the Taliban, which also included freeing 5,000 Taliban prisoners and a military withdrawal deadline of May 1st.

The president has since been widely criticized for abandoning Afghan civilians and military and allowing it to collapse so quickly after 20 years, thousands of deaths and billions of dollars.

'So, @POTUS is a disaster,' O'Neill wrote among his barrage of Twitter posts.

On Fox, Orden said 'People can't pretend like this isn't happening. We truly understand now that the emperor has no clothes,' adding that 'he has disappeared from the public' after spending the weekend at Camp David.

After no public communication save for a written statement Biden will address the country and the world on Monday afternoon at 3:45 p.m.

The Taliban made public assurances that there would be no retribution against people who worked for the government and that their takeover of Kabul would be peaceful.

Yet Afghanistan's representative to the UN's security council Ghulam M. Isaczai said 'there are already reports of target killings and looting in the city,' at a meeting of the council on Monday.

'Kabul residents are reported that the Taliban have already started house-to-house searches in some neighborhoods, registering names and looking for people in their target list,' he added.
