Basic Instinct director Paul Verhoeven denies 'tricking' Sharon Stone into THAT leg-crossing scene: 'She knew exactly what we were doing'
Basic Instinct director Paul Verhoeven, once again, insisted that Sharon Stone absolutely knew that her vulva-flashing moment would appear in his 1992 erotic thriller.
The 63-year-old Oscar nominee wrote in her memoir The Beauty of Living Twice, which dropped March 30, that she was told the audience wouldn't 'see anything' and she was tricked.
'"I just need you to remove your panties, as the white is reflecting the light, so we know you have panties on,"' Sharon wrote Paul told her on set.

'Yes, there have been many points of view on this topic, but since I'm the one with the vagina in question, let me say: The other points of view are bulls***.'
The Dutch 82-year-old said Wednesday that his 'memory is radically different from Sharon's memory' and her version of the story is 'impossible.'
'She knew exactly what we were doing,' Verhoeven told Variety while promoting his new film Benedetta.
'I told her it was based on a story of a woman that I knew when I was a student who did the crossing of her legs without panties regularly at parties. When my friend told her we could see her vagina, she said, "Of course, that's why I do it!" Then Sharon and I decided to do a similar sequence.'
