Two police officers were injured when a thug van driver ploughed into their squad car seven times in the early hours of New Year's Day.
Shocking photographs show the mangled wreckage of the police car after the officers were targeted in Coventry, in the West Midlands, at around 1.30am on Friday.
Police had been called to Hummingbird Avenue after a fight broke out at a house and a motorcyclist was seen in the area deliberately driving at people.

There were also reports somebody was armed with a knife but as officers arrived they were ploughed into by a Transit van before they could step foot from the car.
They were rammed around seven times, the impact triggering the car's airbags, before the driver reversed into another police car.
The driver tried making off but was cornered nearby and arrested.

He was taken to hospital because it was suspected he was under the influence of drugs. He will later be taken to a police station for questioning.
Three police officers - including two in the badly damaged patrol car - suffered neck and back injuries but were not seriously hurt.
Enquiries into the disorder continue.
