School leavers are urged to take advantage of a generous $5,000 payment to help them relocate for their further studies following a tumultuous Covid-affected year.
The Morrison government launched the Tertiary Access Payment to help regional and remote students looking to begin their tertiary study in a new area in 2021.
Minister for government services Stuart Robert said this will help those students who suffered through a year of lockdowns and uncertainty in 2020.

'It has been truly inspirational to see the class of 2020 rise to the challenge and now we are encouraging you to claim early to give you more time to prepare for the next exciting chapter in your life,' he said.
He said the payment will help students from rural, regional and remote Australia with their relocation costs.
But Labor education spokesman Tanya Plibersek said the payment was only created after the federal government hiked up university course fees.
'If Scott Morrison wanted more country kids to have the chance to go to university, he wouldn't be more than doubling the cost of a basic degree to a staggering $58,000,' she told news.com.au.
'These young people will graduate with crippling debts at the same time as they are trying to get a permanent job, save a deposit for a house, or start a family.
'Scott Morrison should explain why he's deliberately making life tougher for our kids.'

To be eligible for the grant, school leavers have to meet the Youth Allowance requirements and are under the age of 22 on the first day of their new course.
The applicant will also be looking to relocate due to the fact that their family home is further than 90 minutes by public transport from their place of study.
The parents' income will also have to be within the threshold. Children of parents who earn a combined $250,000 are not eligible.
The grant will be offered in two installments, $3,000 in the first semester and the rest in the second.
