Excavator and expert known as 'The Bone Finder' is brought to Connecticut mansion once owned by Fotis Dulos as police continue to search for his missing ex-wife Jennifer's remains
The hunt for missing mother Jennifer Dulos continued in Connecticut on Wednesday, with authorities bringing in an excavator and an expert known as 'The Bone Finder' to assist in their search.
An excavator and a team of investigators were spotted at a Farmington mansion once owned by Jennifer's husband Fotis Dulos and his construction company Fore Group, just a day after police had said they were 'following up on old leads'.
Jennifer, 50, vanished in May 2019 in New Canaan and has not been seen or heard from since. Fotis was later charged with her murder but vehemently denied killing his wife.
The couple was in the midst of a bitter custody battle at the time and Fotis was accused of plotting against Jennifer with the help of his then-girlfriend, Michelle Troconis.
In January 2020, he was found unresponsive at his home after gassing himself in his car. He died in the hospital days later.

New Hampshire cemetery geophysics expert, Bob Perry, best known as 'The Bone Finder', assisted authorities in their search Tuesday using ground-penetrating radar

Police on Tuesday were seen digging holes in the expansive grounds of 80 Mountain Spring Road, though they did not disclose what prompted the search or if anything was found.
Authorities also enlisted the help of New Hampshire cemetery geophysics expert, Bob Perry, also known as 'The Bone Finder' due to his success in locating unmarked graves and burial sites.
Perry revealed they had detected four areas with 'disturbed soil' but no anomalies were found
Using ground-penetrating radar, Perry and the team combed through a nearby wooded area where they identified four sites with 'disturbed soil.'
'They feel like the body was buried out in the backyard and this is what I do, so, I said sure no problem,' Perry told FOX 61.
'I check for anomalies in the ground or ground disturbance and there were four areas that I checked that had ground disturbance in it.
'I was looking for some sort of indication like a skull or some bones or something like that, that would give off something on the scan and I saw nothing there at all,' he added.
The areas were marked with flags for authorities to later dig into, he said.

A septic truck was also brought in later in the afternoon, according to reports. Police have not commented on the results of the investigation

Perry told NBC Connecticut the four areas ultimately showed 'low probability' and there were no anomalies in the disturbances.
He explained they detected one anomaly 'about 18 inches in the ground' that turned out to be a pipe.
'In my personal experience burying someone in the backyard, especially with all the wooded area, I don't think it was there to begin with,' Perry told FOX, adding that he believes 'it was further out.'
Investigators and K-9 units were seen at the sprawling property again on Wednesday as the excavator arrived at the scene. A septic truck was also brought in later in the afternoon.
Information regarding the results of the search was not released by police.
Fotis Dulos committed suicide in January 2020 by gassing himself in his car. He was due to go to court where he feared his bail was going to be revoked
Dulos girlfriend, Michelle Troconis, who he was living with at the time, and his attorney and friend, Kent Mawhinney, are still facing conspiracy to commit murder
'Our main goal is to, again, work toward providing the family of Jennifer Dulos some closure and our detectives will continue to work tirelessly in the direction of doing so,' Connecticut State Police said in a statement.
Jennifer's body has never been found and now Troconis and Fotis's lawyer and friend, Kent Mawhinney, are the only people left to face accusations over what happened to her.
The house had been searched in 2019 in the wake of her disappearance, but police now say they are 'following up on old leads' again.
Fotis was also in the middle of a civil court battle with Jennifer's family when he died.
They say he owed them millions in unpaid loans.
The family had helped him with his construction business when they were first married under an agreement that he would pay back what he borrowed when they were successful.
He was fighting Jennifer's mother in court. Her father died in 2010.
