Miracle moment four-year-old boy is rescued after spending six hours trapped in a 10 inch pit at the bottom of a well in Mission, Texas
A boy was pulled from a well by rescuers, six hours after falling down it in Texas.
First responders worked for hours to chisel the boy, 4, out of the 8-inch wide water well at a property in Garceño.
Authorities were first alerted to the incident at 4.40pm on Tuesday afternoon. The boy was lodged at between 8 and 9 feet underground.
Members of the sheriff's office, La Rosita Fire Department, Roma Fire Department, Mission Fire Department and the Starr County Memorial Hospital Emergency Services all participated in the operation.

Video footage shows the young boy being pulled from the hole as relieved onlookers applaud.
'Through prayers and actions from everyone involved a little boy lives today,' Starr County Sheriff Rene 'Orta' Fuentes said on social media.
The City of Mission, Texas, wrote on Twitter that it was a 'Christmas miracle'.
'The incredible moment rescuers pulled out a 4-yr-old boy that fell into a well hole in Garceño,' they said.
'So proud of our Mission firefighters & all 1st responders that rescued the child after 6 long hrs. Pit was only 8-10 inches in diameter.
'It's a Christmas miracle!'
The boy was alert and communicating with officers following the rescue, according to the sheriff's office.
He was flown to a hospital where he was in stable condition and undergoing tests.
'Last night proved to be a testament of our community and neighboring communities’ unity and sincere concern for each other,' the Starr County Sheriff's Office said in a statement.
