Man is pulled alive from beneath rubble and rushed to hospital as TWO others remain missing following collapse at closed power plant in Ohio
A man has been pulled alive from beneath rubble, but two others are still missing after a closed power plant collapsed in Ohio.
Search and rescue crews are currently responding to the situation at the former Killen Generating Station in Adams County following the collapse at 8.30 am Wednesday morning.
Five people were reportedly trapped beneath debris, before first responders managed to pull three to safety.
One of those rescued had been trapped for hours. All three have been rushed to hospital.
Two others remain unaccounted for more than seven hours after an awning of the building gave way.
The former coal-fired power plant closed in 2017 and was sold to Commercial Liability Partners for redevelopment earlier this year.
Demolition on the plant began earlier this year, according to Cincinnati.com.

The plant first opened for operation back in 1982, and employed thousands of people in the area.
Two people have previously been killed on site.
In 1984, an employee died after being pinned down in a coal chute.
A decade later, in 1994, a worker died of hypothermia after trying to rescue coworkers stuck in a smokestack.
