Wild weather wreaks havoc across Australia's east coast with winds knocking down trees and hail stones the size of tennis balls - and it's about to get WORSE
A stormy blast is set to wreak havoc across the east coast of Australia, with a huge weather system bringing gale force winds and monster hail stones.
Heavy rain is forecast between Rockhampton on the Queensland central coast to Tamworth in northern New South Wales on Sunday and Monday.
Destructive winds in south-east Queensland took down trees on Sunday afternoon, leaving a Brisbane man in a serious but stable condition in hospital.
About 25,000 homes across Brisbane, Ipswich, Logan and Redland have been left without power.

The region also had 78,000 lightening strikes, with hail the size of tennis balls pummeling the city's western and southern suburbs.
Logan resident Tori Bradley watched a lightening strike blow up a tree on her property.
'The tree just exploded — there was debris right across the 2.5-acre block,' she told the ABC.
Bureau of Meteorology forecaster David Wilkie told Daily Mail Australia severe thunderstorm warnings for the Grafton area in northern NSW could remain in place well into Sunday evening.

'Big storms are forecast around Grafton, with warnings still out in the coming hours,' he said.
'There's a of hail and heavy bursts of rain that will extend into the evening.'
Tamworth and Nundle, south-west of Grafton in northern NSW, saw about 60mm of rain on Sunday with an evacuation at a campsite due to flash flooding.

Gusts of up to 60km/h and heavy rains are set to continue in Sydney on Sunday evening and into Monday, easing on Tuesday.
'The temperature today around Sydney was 14.7C but the average is 22C, and it's dropped from 26C on Saturday so that's a fall of more than 10C.'
The cold weather has been caused by the merging of high and low pressure systems.
Showers will persist in NSW throughout the week, but hazardous conditions should begin to ease on Tuesday.
