Urgent search for blonde 12-year-old boy who went missing in his red school uniform THREE DAYS ago - as his desperate family plead for information

An urgent search is underway for a 12-year-old boy who went missing three days ago.

Queensland Police say the boy was last seen at school near St Helens in the Maryborough area on Thursday, and has not been heard from since.

There are now grave fears for the child's safety and his desperate family are calling on members of the public for help.

'Police and the boy’s family hold serious concerns for his welfare due to his young age,' Queensland Police said in a statement.

'The boy was last seen wearing a red and navy-blue school polo shirt.

'He is described as Caucasian, about 160cm tall with blonde hair and blue eyes.' 

Anyone who may have information about the boy's whereabouts, or has seen a child fitting his description, is urged to call police immediately.
