Man, 32, is arrested for drunken rampage in his 40ft yacht - smashing into multiple boats docked in Florida harbor

A Florida man was arrested and charged with boating under the influence after he drunkenly crashed his yacht into a row of boats and a dock on Sunday.

Shocking video showed the moment when Brendan Corey Sheridan, a 32-year-old from Sarasota, spent roughly six minutes trying to dock the 40ft Carver Yacht before colliding with the other vessels at the Sarasota Bayfront.

'I was sitting at the park with my kids and I heard other people gasp because this man made a huge wake that was rocking the other boats pretty bad,' Kayla McLoughlin, who recorded the viral clip, explained to the Herald Tribune.

'I started recording four minutes before because I'm like if these boats get damage, I want to show them what happened.'

As a Sarasota police officer arrived on the scene, he observed a Sheridan whose clothing appeared 'disarranged' and whose speech was lethargic and sluggish.

He is said to have refused to take a field sobriety test but two breathalyzer tests came back with results 0.185 and 0.180.

Sheridan was charged with four misdemeanor counts of boating under the influence and property damage. He has since been released on a $2,000 bail.

Also onboard the boat was 46-year-old Michaela Jean Larson, who lives near Sheridan.

Larson explained to officers that she tried to help Sheridan tie the boat off but noticed he was about to hit the dock and tried to warn him.

'Sheridan then just gassed the vessel hard,' she stated.

Witnesses reported seeing the operator of the yacht throw a knife into the water from the vessel's cabin.

Sheridan blamed an east wind blowing his boat for why he ran into the other vessels when attempting to dock. Officers said that the damage was not consistent with getting blown into another boat.

'As he got close to another yacht, the people were screaming 'SHUT IT DOWN!'' McLoughlin said. 'Then he turned around and just went straight into the other boat; then just kept going and hit the dock and turned it off and just walked down stairs like it was nothing.'

Neither Sheridan nor Larson told police where they had been or whether they had been under the influence of drugs and alcohol, according to the report.

Sheridan surrendered his boating license.
