Girl, one, is killed after being struck by a car in a driveway in western Sydney

A one-year-old girl has died after being hit by a car in a driveway in Western Sydney.

Emergency serviced raced to a townhouse on Kent Street in Blacktown just before 7.30pm on Tuesday.

Officers and paramedics found the toddler in a critical condition.

She was treated at the scene before being taken to Westmead Children’s Hospital where she died.

NSW Police said the 40-year-old driver was treated by paramedics for shock before he was taken to Blacktown Hospital for mandatory testing. 

'A crime scene was established and police are investigating the exact circumstances surrounding the incident,' police said in a statement.

A report will be prepared for the Coroner.
