Camper stumbles upon an eerie ABANDONED school - and everything has been left untouched including an old telephone, stocked pantry and teachers' mugs on the wall

A camper was left shocked after discovering an abandoned school in the middle of the bush.

Peter Signorini was looking for a stealth campsite when he stumbled across the deserted schoolhouse in Victoria.

He was even more amazed to then find a stocked pantry, a connected 80s-style telephone, numerous teacher coffee mugs on the wall as well as a handful of school camp documents on a nearby bench.

Mr Signorini later posted his finding on the Old & Abandoned Australia Facebook page.

'I found out later from a colleague who used to run it that it was an old school, used as a camp,' he said.

'After the 2009 Black Saturday bush fires, rebuilding and running it all became too much.

'Their dormitory blocks burned down, but the school was saved. So now it just quietly sits there.'

Mr Signorini's remarkable find garnered plenty of attention on Facebook, with almost 600 likes and over 100 comments by Tuesday afternoon.

One member posted it was 'amazing' the school hadn't been attacked by vandals, while another suggested the site should be 'turned into a historical school and protected.'

A third member stated 'its ambiguity has left it untouched which is great... and it should be left that way.'
