Capital gains tax calculator

In June 2010 capital gains tax was raised from 18% to 28% for higher-rate taxpayers. The tax hits those who make gains above the tax-free allowance on the sale of assets including , funds and second homes and buy-to-let property.

The CGT-free allowance of £10,100 per year was kept at the same level.

This calculator will give you a rough idea of how much more you're likely to pay under the new regime.
