Number one: Following her death Amy Winehouse's Grammy award-winning Back To Black album has gone straight to the top of the album charts

Back To Black was number one the year it was released in 2006, and was the UK’s biggest-selling album of 2007.

It went on to win five Grammy awards in 2008 and ranks 19 on Rolling Stone’s 100 Best Albums of the Decade.

In the singles charts, the title track rose to number 8 from last week’s 81.

Tears Dry On Their Own came in at 27, Rehab at 29, Love Is A Losing Game at 33 and You Know I’m No Good at 37.

Dominating the charts: Five singles from the album also made it into the top 40, including the title track, Rehab and Tears Dry On Their Own

The news came as Winehouse’s family were still awaiting results of toxicology tests after the  27-year-old singer was found dead at her home in Camden, North London, last Saturday.

Relatives believe her decision to stop drinking – after long battles with drugs and alcohol – may have been a factor in her death.

At her funeral last Tuesday, her father Mitch told mourners she had ‘conquered’ her drug addiction and was happier than she had been for a long time.

HMV spokesman Gennaro Castaldo said: ‘It’s no real  surprise. Many people have wanted it on CD, perhaps by way of feeling a more tangible connection with Amy and her music.’
