300: Rise of an Empire New 'Trailer' launched on the Internet

300: Rise of an Empire Trailer has been launched on the internet and receiving good response so far. The first trailer for the sequel to the 2006 epic, 300, has been released. Based on the Frank Miller graphic novel, Xerxes, the plot will expand on the Battle of Thermopylae from 300 and explore the Rodrigo Santoro's character as he evolves from King to God. Director Noam Murro told MTV, "The idea of this movie was always that it takes place at about the same time of the first one.

“It's as if you zoomed out and saw a bigger time frame and told a bigger story of what happened in 300. The first movie speaks to the detail of this sequel.” Directed by Noam Murro, the film will star Eva Green, Rodrigo Santoro, Lena Headey and Sullivan Stapleton.

trailer for 300: Rise of an Empire, the follow-up to 2006 action film 300, surfaced online Wednesday. Similar to its predecessor, Rise of an Empire is filmed in a graphic-novel style, and depicts mortal-turned-god Xerxes in his bid to overtake more territory.

A two-and-a-half minute trailer, above, reveals intense battle scenes between Xerxes (Rodrigo Santoro reprising his role in 300) and woman-warrior Artemisia (Eva Green of Casino Royale fame) against Greek general Themistocles (Sullivan Stapleton).
