Other wife found on Facebook: Bigamist facing Trial

Other wife found on Facebook: In a strange turn of events in Washington, a man has been charged with bigamy after the social media site Facebook, revealed that the man had in fact married two separate women.

It was reported that 41 year old Alan L. O’ Neill who is a state corrections officer in the state of Washington, had married a woman in 2001. He then went on to separate from the same woman approximately 8 years later and then changed his name. Following this he went on to marry a second woman.

His story of deception was revealed by the two wives when they looked into the reasons behind them both showing up as “friends” of their husband on his Facebook profile.

In what appears to be a strange turn of events "Wife No. 1 went to wife No. 2's page and saw a picture of her and her husband with a wedding cake," according to Pierce County Prosecutor Mark Lindquist.

It was reported that his first wife then called and confronted the second wife. "An hour later the defendant arrived at [Wife No. 1's] apartment, and she asked him several times if they were divorced,” The defendant went on to state, 'No, we are still married.'"

O’Neill has apparently requested that his first wife did not contact the state authorities to the obvious case of bigamy. Bigamy is illegal under a number of different federal and state laws. The first wife however did the right thing and reported his illegal doings.

The defendant was previously known by the name of Alan Fulk and currently works as a corrections officer for Pierce County according to Ed Troyer the sheriff’s spokesman. The defendant is facing up to a year in jail if convicted
