Enthralling photos of a Middle Ages-inspired jousting tournament

The Seattle Knights, covered in chain mail and brandishing swords, prepare for battle.

The audience looks down at the arena, waiting for the tournament to begin.

The battle is not real and no blood is shed, but the actors help create an atmosphere where it is easy to forget that.

During the highlight of the show, the troupe's six knights in shining armor take turns riding toward each other on horses, attempting to break the others shield or knock the other from his horse using their lances.
