Cosmetics designed just for men are becoming more and more popular, and now males wanting to try out the metrosexual look have their very own beauty tutorial.
Kate Moss’s make-up artist Charlotte Tilbury produces make-up how-tos as part of her glossy beauty blog, and her latest post is dedicated to helping men achieve a healthy glow for spring.
Reassuring any doubters out there, Charlotte opens the tutorial saying: ‘It is no longer taboo for men to wear skincare and beauty products.'
The tutorial takes a ‘masculine approach' to beauty and is billed as a hybrid between skincare and make up products.
Tired puffy eyes and lacklustre skin (left) effects men too, especially in the winter, but Charlotte shows how to achieve a glowing, natural complexion (right)
Charlotte starts by freshening the face with a full exfoliation, including a sugar rub on the lips
Starting with a deep cleansing facial wash Charlotte cleans the skin, removing dead skin cells, dirt and blackheads, which, as all women know, make for uneven and clumpy make up.
Completing the exfoliation process Charlotte uses a fresh sugar lip polish to remove dry skin on the lips and giving her male model ‘perfect smooth lips’.

Eye drops are then applied, and Charlotte recommends them as ‘perfect for when you’ve had a bit of a late night and you have to fake a bright eye.’
Mysteriously her next step in male beautification involves applying ‘Charlotte's magic cream’- a secret recipe moisturiser- to the cheeks and under eye area.

Charlotte's 'magic cream' is applied to brighten the skin before an under eye cream to de-puff any dark circles
Charlotte says eye drops are: 'perfect for when you've had a bit of a late night and you have to fake a bright eye'
This is combined with Elemis Time Defence Eye Reviver to soothe and de-puff the under eye area, but Charlotte recommends applying not right next to the eye, but underneath it, for maximum effect.
Charlotte then applies Kanebo Sensai bronzing gel to her obliging male model.
She says: ‘When you’re feeling a little bit peaky, and you need a little bit of life into your skin, pop a little bit of this bronzing gel on and it will give you a look as if you’ve just been somewhere hot and fabulous.’
‘Pop a tiny amount onto the back of your hand and just blend it into your skin, almost like you would moisturizer.
Charlotte carefully applies Yves Saint Larent Touche Eclat for men, which she then dabs to blend
‘It really is not like make up, it’s more like a gel. There is no technique needed and it really does just do the work naturally for you.’
Her now buffed and bronzed model then has Yves Saint Larent Touche Eclat for men applied under his eyes to remove dark bags and signs of tiredness, which Charlotte suggests patting rather than rubbing in, avoiding going right up to the eye
