Cheerleader body found started trending online when the news about
the body of the 13-year-old cheerleader was found finally. The family of
Hailey Darlene Dunn has held on to some faint bit of hope that their
young daughter found be found alive after going missing in Dec. of 2010.
That hope unfortunately faded as the Epoch Times reported on April 27, 2013, that the cheerleader's body was found in a remote location in West Texas in March.
The remains of the body were found in March, but the identification of Hailey Dunn was just announced by police on Friday.
Dunn's remains were found back on March 16, 2013, near Lake J.B. Thomas in Scurry County, Texas. A person alerted the authorities immediately after coming across them. By the time they were found, a full two years and three months had gone by since her disappearance.
Billie Jean Dunn, Hailey's mother, was called by police on Friday at her Austin home. Dunn will be heading to West Texas to make funeral arrangements for her daughter.
Hailey Dunn was officially reported missing by her mother on Dec. 28, 2010. A huge and wide search for the child went into effect and there were even more than 100 billboards with information spread on them across Texas and numerous other states.
“We’ve been searching for her for two years, and it’s like losing a child of your own. I hate it. I wish we could have brought her back,” Freda Radcliff said. Radcliff is the leader of Hailey's Angels, a group put together to help find the girl.
The cause of death and disappearance of Hailey Dunn is still under investigation.
