'Can I have her CELL number?' Doctored police mugshots poking fun at 'ridiculously photogenic' drink-driver go viral
It has already featured a marathon runner, a lung-surgery patient and a Syrian soldier carrying a rocket launcher.
Now the latest in the 'Ridiculously Photogenic' series of internet virals has thrown a drink-driving brunette into the spotlight.
The new meme, known as Attractive Convict, which focuses on a police mugshot of a 25-year-old woman, has become the latest online sensation.
Meagan McCullough was arrested for
driving under the influence in Florida in July 2010 and her photo
uploaded to the arrest database arrests.org.
Two years later, her picture was included in a compilation of mugshots featuring attractive women on the men’s interest blog The Chive.
It then resurfaced on Reddit earlier this week with a light-hearted caption joking at her photogenic appearance and her orange jumpsuit.
Within 48 hours, the post received over 8,800 up votes and 550 comments, it was reported on knowyourmeme.com.
Since then, hundreds of internet users
have posted their own take on the meme, with captions ranging from 'I
guess it's true... looks do kill' to 'Can I have her cell number'.
The satirical take is similar to that of the Ridiculously Photogenic Guy' which took off in April 2012 and featured runner Zeddie Little who was perceived to be a very good-looking man.
The 'Ridiculously Photogenic...' trend began when photographer Will King took a picture of Zeddie Little running the 10km Cooper Bridge run in his hometown of Charleston, South Carolina.
The photograph was posted on Flickr and Mr Little (below) became an internet sensation - even appearing on television show Good Morning America as Ridiculously Photogenic Guy.
He was followed by Ridiculously Photogenic Surgery Girl
- also known as Rachel (below) - who became a similar internet sensation after
posting a photograph of herself in hospital as she recovered from lung
surgery.
The internet's eye was then - bizarrely - drawn to the Syrian civil war, where a handsome soldier carrying a grenade launcher (below) liberated people's hearts with his smouldering looks to become Ridiculously Photogenic Syrian Rebel.
It was only a matter of time before a sports star became the focus of the craze, and New England Patriots wide receiver Brandon Lloyd's smile for the camera (below) as he scored a touchdown was the textbook 'Ridiculously...' photo opportunity.
The moment will be recorded in sports history for nothing more than the six points, but to those in the know it will be forever remembered as the birth of Ridiculously Photogenic Football Player.
