Trevor Bauer's Dodgers teammates are 'largely against his return under ANY CIRCUMSTANCES' as he remains on paid leave amid police and MLB probes into sexual assault claims

Los Angeles Dodgers players are mostly against the return of pitcher Trevor Bauer, who remains on paid leave amid criminal and Major League Baseball investigations into allegations of sexual assault, according to a new report.

Two sources told the The Los Angeles Times that most of the team's players do not want the reigning Cy Young Award winner and first-year Dodger play for the club going 'under any circumstances.'

Under the league's collectively bargained domestic violence, sexual assault, and child abuse policy, MLB can suspend and fine Bauer based on its independent findings. However, the Dodgers cannot terminate Bauer's contract until any related suspension has been served.

She specifically alleged that Bauer punched her in the face, vagina, and buttocks, and strangled her with her own hair until she lost consciousness several times during their two meetings

Bauer, who has denied the allegations, has not been charged in the case, but a Pasadena police spokesperson told DailyMail.com on Tuesday that the investigation remains 'ongoing.'

The accuser, identified as 'Ms. Hill' at her attorney's request, filed for a domestic violence restraining order against Bauer last month. That petition includes photographs of injuries Hill allegedly suffered during sex with Bauer, such as black eyes and scratches to her face.

Also included are text messages between Hill and Bauer, in which he expresses concern for her injuries, as well as medical documentation for her intercranial hemorrhage, spinal cord injury, and concussion.

Bauer has been in court attempting to have the restraining order overturned. The next hearing, which will include witnesses, is scheduled for August 2.

The high-energy and outspoken Bauer signed a three-year, $102 million deal with the Dodgers in free agency prior to this season.

MLB suspensions of players cited under the domestic violence policy have served suspensions between 13 and 162 games in length.

On July 2, investigators in the case said publicly that new leads were introduced that were expected to add 'weeks' to the criminal fact-finding work.

'We were looking into some things and we thought we were nearing the end,'' Lt. Carolyn Gordon told USA Today. 'We are not close to the end. This investigation is bigger than we thought. So we have to look a few more places. We want to try to uncover as much stuff as we can.''

Bauer previously denied assaulting Hill when the allegations first surfaced earlier in the week, claiming through his attorney that she asked him to be rough during consensual sex. Major League Baseball is 'looking into the matter,' according to Tuesday's league statement.

Hill, 27, said she had sexual encounters with Bauer in April and May, but that both episodes turned violent. She specifically alleged that Bauer punched her in the face, vagina, and buttocks, and strangled her with her own hair until she lost consciousness. Hill was later hospitalized for her injuries.

During one encounter, Hill claims she passed out and found Bauer sodomizing her when she regained consciousness.

Hill said she was bleeding and struggling to walk after non-consensual anal sex, but added: 'In my state at that time, I did not think Trevor was a threat to do anything against my will for the remainder of the night.'

The following day, Hill said, Bauer asked Hill jokingly if she was 'feeling a little sore this morning?'

Hill said she told him that she didn't enjoy it and said he seemed to understand.

Also included in the petition were text exchanges between Bauer and Ms. Hill in which she informed him about her injuries

Bauer continued to communicate with Hill over text messages and social media for the next three weeks, discussing baseball and her new job. Some of the conversations were of 'a sexual nature.'

When the pair met again, Hill said they agreed on a safe word which she says Bauer ignored, choking her until she lost consciousness. When she awoke, he was punching her in the face, she claimed.

'This was the first punch I felt but it is very possible that Trevor had already been punching and scratching the right side of my face while I was unconscious,' she said.

'Trevor then punched me hard with a closed fist to the left side of my jaw, the left side of my head, and both cheekbones. I remember this vividly and it was extremely startling and painful.

'I was absolutely frozen and terrified. I could not speak or move. After punching me several times, he then flipped me back onto my stomach and began choking me with hair. I lost consciousness again.'

Bauer, 30, won the National League Cy Young Award as a member of the Cincinnati Reds last year before signing a three-year, $102 million free agent deal with the Dodgers in February. He is 8-5 with a 2.59 ERA in 17 starts for Los Angeles this year

Hill said that she was crying and shaking after regaining consciousness and that Bauer reportedly began to console her, allegedly saying: 'You're safe. I'm here. You're safe... I would never do those things to you if it wasn't sexually.'

In a subsequent text message exchange included in the petition and reviewed by DailyMail.com, Hill told Bauer that doctors thought the 'bruises/swelling' on her face would last another week, but that she wasn't sure when her 'head symptoms' would subside.

'I just want it all to go away,' she wrote Bauer.

'I feel so bad that this happened,' he responded. 'Wish I could be there with you through it.'

'Just grateful that you are showing that you care,' she wrote.

'I do. I absolutely do,' he texted her. 'Never want to see you hurting.'

After going to the hospital, Hill spoke to multiple San Diego Police Department detectives but said she downplayed the alleged incident as 'rough sex' and did not reveal Bauer's name.

'I was afraid what Trevor would do if he found out,' Hill said in the restraining order request. 'I remain afraid that Trevor will find me and hurt me for going to the hospital.'

In one of her last messages to Bauer, Hill claims she told him the best way for him to help her would be to 'never do this to anyone else ever again.'

'I would never do anything to hurt anyone,' he responded. 'That includes you.'

Prior to his successful one-year stint with Cincinnati, Bauer played for the Cleveland Indians and Arizona Diamondbacks. He also collegiately at UCLA where he set a single-season Pac-12 strikeout record.

Bauer made headlines in 2019 when he and his Twitter followers were accused of relentlessly harassing a woman who had criticized him.

'It has definitely ruined my last three days,' Nikki Giles, then 21, told USA Today. 'I have cried daily and called my family crying because the first 12 to 24 hours or so I was getting a lot of hate.'

Giles said she reported the attacks to the team, via Facebook, flagging several of Bauer's tweets.

The bizarre social media skirmish began when Bauer tweeted criticism of Giles's favorite player, Houston Astros third baseman Alex Bregman.

Giles responded by telling Bauer that he was her 'least favorite' baseball player, but over the next few days, he tagged her in at least 80 tweets as his own followers began harassing her, according to USA Today.

'Maybe you shouldn't have trolled me then,' he wrote at one point.

Giles tried blocking him, but eventually unblocked him in order to respond to his criticism.

Bauer backtracked in a statement, saying that online bullying is wrong.

'I often defend myself against internet trolling, bullying and slander,' he said. 'My responses to fans are good-natured. I do not encourage any of my fans, followers, or friends to attack, insult or harass anyone on any social media platform, or in real life. There is no room for that in the world. I have been made aware that some of the interactions related to a specific Twitter exchange may have had a negative impact. That was not my intention.

'I will wield the responsibility of my public platform more responsibly in the future.'

Bauer was known as an active Twitter user, but has stayed off social media since the accusations surfaced.

He's previously engaged in several conspiracy theories, like the unfounded claim that former President Barack Obama was born outside the United States. He also frequently criticizes the media for its coverage of former President Donald Trump.
