NSW Premier Gladys Berejiklian has become an unlikely TikTok star after being edited into a viral music video. 

The clip, by TikTok user Gladystobehere, shows the politician superimposed on footage of people wearing masks, drivers lining up for Covid tests and empty streets.

The soundtrack to the video is the hit single Stay, by Sydney-born rapper The Kid Laroi and pop superstar Justin Bieber.

The lyrics to Stay appear to mimic what Gladystobehere thinks of the premier's response to the coronavirus outbreak.

The words go: 'I do the same / I told you that I never would / I told you that I would change / even when I knew I never could / I know that I can't.'

The video at one point cuts to several unmasked Sydneysiders walking on a beach as the song goes: 'I need you to stay / I need you to stay .'

In addition to going viral on TikTok, the clip has reached a wide audience on Instagram after being shared by the popular Brown Cardigan meme account.

The premier highlighted that 29 of those cases were out in the community for the entire time they were infectious. 

NSW Health says 49 of the infections are household contacts and 14 are close contacts. Sixty-seven (69 per cent) of the new cases were found in south-west Sydney.

The number of exposure sites has also increased to 400.
