Makeup-free Natalie Portman takes her children to the park in Sydney after being investigated by NSW Police over her boat trip during lockdown

NSW Police recently dropped an investigation into Natalie Portman's questionable boat ride with husband Benjamin Millepied during Sydney's lockdown.

And it seems the Star Wars actress, 40, has moved on from the controversy, as she enjoyed a leisurely stroll around the eastern suburbs with her family on Thursday.

Natalie doted on her children at park during her permitted outdoor daily exercise, as the city remains locked down due to a surge in Delta variant cases.

She protected herself and others by wearing a face mask.

The Israeli-born star went makeup free and swept her brunette locks into a bun, while keeping a low profile in dark sunglasses.

Police confirmed last week they would be taking 'no further action' after a brief investigation into Natalie and her husband's boat ride with comedian Sacha Baron Cohen during Sydney's lockdown.

A NSW Police spokesperson told Daily Mail Australia last Friday: 'Officers attached to Northern Beaches Police Area Command received information about a group on a boat on Monday 5 July 2021, potentially breaching Public Health Orders .

'Police have reviewed the information and confirm the activity, and the number of people in the group, complied with the PHOs in force at that time. There will be no further police action taken'.

Daily Mail Australia had previously published pictures of the celebrity set cruising about Sydney's north on a rented boat with their children.

Locals fumed about the high-profile group's morning activity given Greater Sydney residents had been ordered to stay home except for 'essential' reasons, due to an alarming outbreak of the highly infectious Delta variant.

'So nice that Hollywood celebs get to enjoy Sydney Harbour during lockdown,' tweeted Australian BBC correspondent Frances Mao.

Ms Mao also noted police had deployed 100 extra officers to the multicultural south-west Sydney region to ensure compliance with the public health orders.

'What lockdown?' added journalist Ben Grubb. 'Recreational activities are allowed as part of the sixteen rules but two separate families on a boat?'

The public health orders that were in place at the time stated Sydney residents could only leave their homes if they had a 'reasonable excuse'.

That included 'exercise and outdoor recreation'. The definition of outdoor recreation - and whether that included a day on the water - wasn't specified.

The NSW Government had also advised locals to practise social distancing by keeping 1.5m from 'people you don't live with'.

Sydney is still in lockdown with another 97 cases of Covid-19 recorded overnight on Thursday.

Lockdown has been extended another two weeks and is due to end on Friday, July 30, but it is believed this will be extended again in a bid to keep the community safe.
