Moment mother pulls her five-year-old son from kidnapper's car window after stranger tried to snatch the boy off a Queens street

The NYPD has released disturbing video showing a man brazenly snatching a five-year-old boy off the street in Queens, before the child's mother comes to the rescue and pulls him from the suspect's car.

According to the police, around 8pm on Thursday, 45-year-old Dolores Diaz Lopez was near 117-02 Hillside Avenue in the Richmond Hill neighborhood with her children. They were on the sidewalk, when the occupant of a parked maroon sedan got out and ran at them.

Surveillance video from the scene shows a man in a white T-shirt and gray shorts scoop up the five-year-old boy and place him in the backseat.

The victim's mother rushes toward the car and, after a brief struggle, pulls her son, Jacob, through the front passenger window.

The suspect in the botched child abduction and another man then flee south in their vehicle on Hillside Avenue, before turning west onto Jamaica Avenue.

According to the police, the boy was not injured during the thwarted kidnapping.

Investigators said there is no evidence to suggest that the boy's mother knew the suspects.

In an interview with ABC7NY, Diaz Lopez said she and her children were on their way to visit their father when the incident took place.

'I said "oh my God my kids, oh my God my boy,"' Diaz Lopez said.

The woman said the stranger who grabbed her son did not say anything as he put him in the car.

Jacob initially sat down, but when his older brother approached the vehicle, pleading with the suspect to release the boy, the five-year-old stood up, and Diaz Lopez was able to grab him and pull him out.

Police are now asking for the public's help identifying the suspects and the getaway vehicle.

The man caught on video grabbing the boy is described as a man in his 30s with a goatee and arm tattoos. He was last seen wearing a white T-shirt, gray shorts and dark-colored sneakers.

The second suspect is described as a man between 50 and 60, with eyeglasses. He was last seen an orange T-shirt, blue jeans and black shoes.

The car they were in is an older, maroon sedan.

The chilling incident comes as crime rates in New York continue to soar, with gun violence surging and attacks on the city's subway systems and in the streets becoming increasingly common.

Anyone with information on the thwarted kidnapping in Queens is asked to call the NYPD's Crime Stoppers Hotline at 1-800-577-TIPS (8477) or for Spanish, 1-888-57-PISTA (74782).
