Charlotte Crosby is forced to return to the UK without even finishing Australian hotel quarantine due to Sydney's Covid-19 outbreak

Charlotte Crosby has revealed how her recent trip to Australia turned into a Covid nightmare thanks to Sydney's lockdown.

The former Geordie Shore star, 31, had flown to Sydney for work commitments last month, but was forced to return to the UK halfway through her two-week stint in hotel quarantine after travel restrictions changed due to rising Covid-19 cases.

Charlotte revealed her ordeal to fans on Instagram Stories after returning home to Britain, calling the situation 'crazy'.

'I'm home! I can't actually believe where I've been. It doesn't feel like all of that happened,' she said.

'So the situation is... I don't think you are ready for this, this is where s**t gets really crazy. I went to Australia just to quarantine and then came home. I know. Some might call this crazy.'

In a subsequent video, Charlotte clarified exactly why her trip had been cut short.

'Everyone seems pretty confused... I went to Australia for work, which got cancelled because Sydney went into lockdown so I had to come home,' she said.

Charlotte also revealed the romantic reason why she'd chosen not to document her journey back to the UK on social media: to surprise her boyfriend Liam Beaumont.

'I've been very quiet on Instagram for the last five days. That was all because I was lying to Liam and I was coming home a lot earlier than expected and I wanted to surprise him,' she explained.

'I was saying I was there in but I was travelling home.'

Charlotte is believed to have travelled to Sydney as part of her deal with Nova entertainment for her podcast, Values and Vibrators.

She previously told fans she was upset Liam wasn't allowed to join her in Australia due to Covid-19 restrictions.

'I have to work so I have a special work visa. Liam couldn't get a visa as he wouldn't be working there,' she said.

'As you can imagine Australia is so strict at the moment. They aren't even accepting tourist visas!'
