Charlize Theron is chic as she prances off from an LA dance studio in a ruffled denim dress

She got her start in showbusiness as a dancer.

And Charlize Theron proved she still had the right moves she left an LA dance studio on Thursday.

The South African stunner, 45, was picture perfect donning a flouncy denim shirtdress while picking something up during her stop.

She accessorized with a black face mask, yellow mirrored sunglasses and white sandals while sweeping her blonde locks out of her face and into a ponytail. 

Charlize is trained in ballet, attending the Joffrey Ballet School in New York after moving to the US as a teenager to pursue modeling.

But her dance career was cut short when she suffered a knee injury. 

Talking about her experience in the Big Apple with the New York Times in 2008, she said: 'I went to New York for three days to model, and then I spent a winter in New York in a friend's windowless basement apartment.

'I was broke, I was taking class at the Joffrey Ballet, and my knees gave out. I realized I couldn't dance anymore, and I went into a major depression.

'My mom came over from South Africa and said, "Either you figure out what to do next or you come home, because you can sulk in South Africa."'

Not long after that in 1994 Theron's mom bought her a one-way ticket to Los Angeles to pursue her dreams in the film industry.

She nailed her first non-speaking role in the 1995 horror film Children of the Corn III: Urban Harvest, but her breakout role wouldn't be until the 1997 horror-drama The Devil's Advocate.

Most recently Theron was cast in HBO Max's The Final Girl Support Group, which is about a group of serial killer survivors who come together to save one of their own when she goes missing.

Theron and her production company Denver & Delilah Films will develop the project in tandem with It director Andy Muschietti and his sister/producing partner Barbara.

The project is based of the novel The Final Girl Support Group from horror writer Grady Hendrix.

Hendrix's stories are getting a lot of attention in the entertainment world. 

He is also adapting his debut novel Horrorstƶr into a movie and Amazon Studios is developing adaptations of his books My Best Friend’s Exorcism and Southern Book Club’s Guide to Slaying Vampires.
