David Schwimmer spotted out after former crush Jennifer Aniston said she would 'proudly' admit she 'banged' him if it were true ... while denying their rumored tryst

David Schwimmer was keeping a low profile while stepping out in New York City after making headlines this week over his old crush on co-star Jennifer Aniston.

Aniston revealed during the Friends Reunion in May that she had a crush on her on-screen love during season one of the hit show and that the 54-year-old actor also had one on her.

Schwimmer's ex girlfriend Natalie Imbruglia then raised eyebrows this week when she jokingly suggested that David and Jen may have gotten intimate back then but Aniston shut down the rumors laughing that she would have been 'proud' to admit it.

While New York is fully re-opened, Schwimmer still donned a protective facemask while he was out running errands in Manhattan.

The star kept it casual in a baseball hat, a blue polo shirt and blue shorts as he chatted on the phone on his stroll.

On Wednesday, Howard Stern boldly asked Jennifer Aniston the question many have been wondering lately during his SiriusXM show and wanted to know if they ever 'banged.'

The Morning Show star, who had Friends vets Courteney Cox and Lisa Kudrow by her side while chatting with Stern, shared that they never did.

'I would proudly say I banged Schwimmer if that happened but no,' said the beauty.

'We were in relationships and it was always never the right time and it wouldn't have worked,' shared the blonde.

'The beauty of that was that whatever feelings we had we just literally channeled everything into Ross and Rachel and I think that's maybe why it resonated the way it did,' added the We're The Millers star.

'But no, we never, on my life got . And Courteney and Lisa would know if it did because they would've heard about it. They can vouch for me,' she said as Cox, 57, added it was 'true.'

Howard Stern was no doubt prompted to ask the question, in part, after David's ex-girlfriend - who he was dating back in season one - cracked a joke this week suggesting that he and and Jen might have gotten together.

While appearing on KIIS FM's Kyle and Jackie O Show, singer Natalie Imbruglia was asked whether there was 'a crossover?' between the actors.

'I thought that too,' she responded before adding: 'No, I'm joking.' 

'I do remember being on the set and I remember everybody being lovely and really, really nice,' she said. 'I wasn't paying attention to whether they were giving each other little looks over my shoulder. I don't know if that was happening. I'm okay with whatever happened back then. It was a long time ago.'

'I would proudly say I banged Schwimmer if that happened but no,' said the beauty 

The pair might have been giving 'little looks' - if nothing more - since they both recently admitted to harboring big crushes back then.  

'At some point, we were crushing hard on each other,' Schwimmer said during the Friends reunion. 'But it was like two ships passing, because one of us was always in a relationship and we never crossed that boundary. We respected that.'

Co-star Matt LeBlanc said under his breath that was 'bullsh*t,' which won laughs.

Aniston added, 'Honestly, I remember saying one time to David, 'It's going to be such a bummer if the first time you and I actually kiss is going to be on national television.' Sure enough, first time we kissed was in that coffee shop.'

Later creators Marta Kauffman and David Crane, as well as executive producer-director Kevin Bright told The Hollywood Reporter: 'It was a very hot topic on the set because the electricity between them in the scenes was like, 'Oh my God, they can't be acting that, there's got to be something!'

'Everybody was suspicious that something was going on,' said Bright. 'People made up their own rumors at a certain point.

'But we all thought something might have been going on because they were just so good together,' he continued. 'We were so invested in Ross and Rachel, like the rest of you. There was something about them. But like the show, in a certain way, you had to wait a long time and then it never happened. The happy ending is in the show.'

Kauffman added: 'We didn't know for sure because we never asked either of them, but yes, we thought that perhaps might be going on,' she said. 

'It did not wind up inspiring Ross and Rachel's honestly at all. If anything, their ability to channel those feelings into Ross and Rachel just made the longing all the more relatable.'
