Woolworths shopper slams the supermarket after being sent adult NAPPIES instead of toilet paper in bizarre bungle
A Woolworths customer was shocked to discover her regular supermarket delivery of toilet paper had instead been substituted for adult nappies after panic buying returned to Sydney stores.
The shopper posted a photo of the adult nappies on Facebook, saying that although it's not what she asked for at least the store had the decency to deliver his and hers options.
'You know when the toilet paper hoarding b******* are at it again?' She wrote.
A Sydney shopper received adult nappies as a substitute for toilet paper in her Woolworths online groceries
'When you order toilet f**king paper in your Woolworths f**king delivery, and they SUBSTITUTE with incontinence pants! That's f**king when!'
The shopper expressed their frustration online and said that adult incontinence pants were definitely not the correct substitute for toilet paper.
'What brilliant mind in Woolworths thought that the solution to not having toilet paper is to GO IN YOUR PANTS???' They said.
'And they put enough thought into it to give us his and hers options.'
Facebook users were quick to comment on the hilarious mix up.
Woolworths apologised for the incident and has offered the customer a refund (pictured: Woolworths store in Avalon)
'At least they weren't kids pull ups,' one user said.
Another said the post was the funniest thing they had seen all year, 'Holy sh*t this is thigh slapping good'.
A Woolworths spokesperson spoke to Daily Mail Australia and apologised for the incident and recognised that mistakes in online orders can be frustrating for customers.
'We know it's frustrating when an online order isn't picked quite right and we apologise to the customer for missing the mark on this occasion', they said.
'Our team of personal shoppers work hard to pick perfect orders for our customers every time, but they're human and don't always get it right'.
'We're always happy to offer refunds when we miss the mark and will contact the customer to offer one on this product'.
Shelves of toilet paper in Woolworths have been left empty as the Northern Beaches cluster rose to 97 on Wednesday (pictured: empty shelves at a Woolworths in Mosman)
Sydneysiders have started panic buying loo roll again after an outbreak on the Northern Beaches was reported last week.
Woolworths and Coles have now re-introduced limitations on toilet paper of two packs per customer, with the restrictions in place at over 200 Woolworths outlets across Greater Sydney.
Woolworths has admitted it has experienced an 'uptick in demand in some of our Northern Beaches stores, but not anywhere near the levels seen earlier this year.'
A spokesperson said the rise in toilet paper spending were mostly isolated to a few stores within the region and that there was no shortage of stock.
'We'll continue to keep a close eye on demand and our stock levels,' a spokesperson said.

Coles Chief Operations Officer Matt Swindells added the supermarket was well prepared.
'We have well-established safety protocols based on what we have learned from COVID restrictions implemented in other states,' he said.
'We have been here before but this time customers across Sydney have been incredible. Very calm, very considered. Everyone is doing the right thing.
'We're not seeing the same panic buying we saw earlier in the year across the nation.'
