Woolworths and Coles urgently recall two popular breakfast spreads over fears they could cause a dangerous allergic reaction

Australia's biggest supermarkets have recalled two popular breakfast spreads over fears they could cause a dangerous reaction in people with nut allergies. 

Woolworths' Macro Natural Almond, Brazil and Cashew Spread 250g and Coles Wellness Road ABC spread 250g were pulled from shelves because of potential allergens. 

Anyone with a peanut allergy is warned not to consume either product and return it for a full refund.

Woolworths' Macro Natural Almond, Brazil and Cashew Spread 250g (pictured right) and Coles Wellness Road ABC spread 250g (pictured left) were recalled because of potential allergens 

The Wellness Road ABC spread has been sold in Coles stores and on their website, with all batches of the spread affected. 

The Woolworth's Macro spread has also been available in stores and online across the country. 

The affected batches are those with a best before date of between 21/5/21 and 10/12/21. 

Consumers are warned that anyone with a peanut allergy or intolerance may have a serious reaction if either product is consumed.
