Fox News host Geraldo Rivera says Trump has acted like an 'entitled frat boy' by complaining about 'voter fraud' since his election loss and leaving the $900million COVID bill in limbo

Fox News correspondent Geraldo Rivera has slammed Donald Trump for his behavior since losing the election to President-elect Joe Biden.

In a tweet Saturday night, Rivera wrote that he had supported Trump for four years while the president was ‘assailed by leftist creeps who conjured the Russian Hoax to wreck his presidency’.

‘Sadly he lost a bitterly contested election. S*** happens’ he continued. ‘However since he has behaved like an entitled frat boy.’

The conservative commentator, a longtime ally and friend of the outgoing president, has become increasingly critical of Trump in recent weeks, blasting his attempts to undermine the integrity of the election by launching a series of legal challenges and refusing to concede the race.

Earlier this week, Rivera lambasted Trump for leaving Americans ‘adrift’ by going on holiday to his Mar-A-Lago resort while the $900 billion coronavirus relief bill is in limbo.

‘He’s threatening a veto. He’s gone on Christmas holiday. What the hell are we supposed to do now? The president has said this is no good. What about the defense authorization part of this? What about paying the military?’ Rivera said Wednesday on Fox’s The Five.

‘We needed some leadership here,’ he said. ‘More importantly, he’s the leader of the free world. Give us some guidance.’

Trump has repeatedly called for stimulus checks to be boosted to $2,000 instead of the $600 promised by the current bill. He refused to sign the relief bill into law on Saturday night which saw 14 million Americans lose their unemployment benefits while a government shutdown now also looms.

During a separate appearance on Fox earlier this month, Rivera accused Trump of damaging the ‘fabric of our democracy’ by continuing to deny the results of the election, even after the Electoral College vote confirmed Biden’s win. Instead, Trump has launch a series of lawsuits with the vast majority of them having since been dismissed.

‘It’s over,’ Rivera said during the December 14 broadcast. ‘I want the president, my friend, the current president, the 45th president, to understand it is over.

‘The Electoral College has voted. The longer we drag this out, the more we damage the fabric of our democracy.’

The pundit, who once suggested naming the COVID-19 vaccine after Trump, warned that he believes the president’s refusal to concede to Biden is damaging his legacy.

He urged the Trump to leave the White House with ‘grace and dignity’.

Since the conclusion of the 2020 election, Rivera – a former Celebrity Apprentice contestant – has also pushed back against a number of conspiracy theories that have been peddled by Trump and his supporters.

On occasion he has even pushed back against his colleagues at Fox who have given credence to the theories, telling them they’re giving ‘false hope’ to supporters of Trump.

In another Tweet on Saturday night, Rivera also took aim at conservative attorney and Trump advocate Sidney Powell.

In response to a tweet that said Powell will ‘burn the deep state down at the stake’ with evidence of widespread voter fraud, Rivera called her ‘pathetic.’

‘Sidney Powell is a pathetic lawyer who among others is working to destroy the legacy of Donald Trump,’ he said.

Powell has spread unsubstantiated claims about the election, including allegations that Dominion Voting Systems had been designed to ‘flip’ votes from Trump to Biden.

None of Powell’s legal challenges have held up in court, with judges dismissing her cases for a lack of evidence or standing.

With less than a month left until he leaves office, Trump on Saturday lashed out at the Supreme Court for refusing to intervene.

‘The U.S. Supreme Court has been totally incompetent and weak on the massive Election Fraud that took place in the 2020 Presidential Election,’ he tweeted. ‘We have absolute PROOF, but they don't want to see it - No “standing”, they say. If we have corrupt elections, we have no country!’

During his four years in office, Trump has successfully nominated three justices to the Supreme Court: Justice Neil Gorsuch in 2017, Justice Brett Kavanaugh in 2018, and Justice Amy Coney Barrett in 2020.

He has previously complained about his lack of standing to bring his desired lawsuits, the legal concept of whether a person has the legal ability to bring a particular lawsuit before a particular court.

The Trump campaign has so far won zero out of at least 40 legal challenges they’ve launched since the election.
