Beautiful moment Bravo the police dog is reunited with his handler after a Good Samaritan found the lost German Shepherd roaming the streets

Heartwarming photos have captured the adorable moment a police dog was reunited with his handler after disappearing two days earlier.

Bravo the six-year-old German Shepherd was off-duty when he vanished on Friday night from his carer Senior Constable Joseph Alofipo's home in Regents Park in Logan, south of Brisbane. 

A Good Samaritan spotted the lost dog roaming the streets and brought him to the Logan Central Station around 9.40am on Sunday.

The six-year-old had disappeared from a home in Logan on Friday night 

'It doesn’t get much better than this. The adorable moment PD Bravo and his handler were reunited,' Queensland Police tweeted with a photo of the reunion.

'A huge thanks to the community for all their support.'

Bravo was taken to the vet as a precaution and given the all clear to return home.

Police officers and their own dogs took to the streets on Saturday to search for the missing German Shepherd, and put out various alerts on social media.

Bravo had made headlines back in 2016 after suffering wounds to his face when he was bitten by another dog while chasing down a suspect.

He's a beloved member of the Queensland Police force and on one incident he famously bit a criminal on the groin when he tried to outrun officers.
